Michael Robinson

A deep, smooth, mid-western American accent.

Born and raised in California. That’s my native accent. In community theater, I have played parts with a variety of accents: Southern Red Neck, British, Irish, Chicago, New York, Russian. In high school choir I sang bass. For years people have been asking me if I’m in radio. In reader’s theater, they keep trying to cast me as the narrator.

For years my dream was to replace Bill Kurtis on NPR’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me. When I met him after a show at the Chase Bank Theater in Chicago, his advice to me for getting starting in the voice business was, “Try.”

Voice Acting

Podcast and video game. With years of community theater under my belt, establishing a character for stage is second nature. Translating that to voice acting has been exciting. Remember, twice as big when using only the voice.
